Programmatic advertising is the automated buying and selling of online advertising. It is the primary way to advertise online outside of the Google/Facebook duopoly. As a category, programmatic has significantly lower CPM than either Google or Facebook and an even lower cost per action. In other words, programmatic advertising delivers much better results per dollar spent than advertising with the duopoly. Technically speaking, AdCritter is what’s known as a demand-side platform, or DSP. Like most DSPs, AdCritter allows you to buy ad placements from all the major ad exchanges, bidding in real-time based on targeting parameters you set. A good DSP ensures your ad is seen by exactly the people you want at the lowest possible price. Unfortunately, most DSPs require technical expertise and large minimum ad budgets. AdCritter does not.
