Spotlight on Emily Harris

Ryan Reid Small Business Spotlight

Here at AdCritter, we passionately believe there’s nothing more inspiring than seeing the grit and determination it requires to take an idea, step out on a ledge, and bring that idea to life. There’s nothing small about starting a business. In today’s spotlight, we shine the light on Emily Harris, founder of the Ryan Reid Collection, an online clothing boutique based out of West Texas.

Her boutique features a wide range of women’s apparel, including tops and jumpsuits, designed in stylish patterns that are perfect for any season. They have hundreds of products available to purchase to suit any woman’s needs. They also just launched some new arrivals just in time for the fall season!

During the interview with Harris, she said her family was the inspiration for Ryan Reid Collection. They’re the reason she started the company in the first place. “I needed more freedom and flexibility in my schedule to be with my children and grandchildren.” The name “Ryan Reid” was inspired by her two grandsons, whose middle names are Ryan and Reid, respectively.

When it comes to her business, what she loves the most is assisting women and having autonomy. “I love being able to help provide women with unique, affordable clothing and I like the freedom of choice on what I want to bring to my customers.” Her passion for those two things correlates to what sets her apart from her competitors. The Ryan Reid Collection is a small online boutique but ships all over the country. However, to any customer in her town, she will deliver locally to them. “The town is pretty small, so they are all like friends or neighbors.”

Amid the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic, Harris advises people to “keep the faith.” She adds that businesses should put themselves in the shoes of their customers and think about what their needs might be, especially during this unprecedented trying time. Ryan Reid Collection offers free standard shipping on all U.S., which is helpful for many since the last thing a lot of people want to do during a pandemic is go out and shop in-person. While her business may be small now, Harris says she is all about bringing quality items and great customer service. “We are still learning the ropes and we welcome all constructive feedback to help us improve.”

AdCritter’s logo features a squirrel, so in fun spirit, I thought I’d ask Harris what her favorite critter is. She said, “It is the little ground squirrels we have all over our parks here (like prairie dogs) who pop up at random locations. They are adorable!”
